It was constructed on the remains of a Chinese fortress dating from the 7th century, on drained land reclaimed from the Red River Delta in Hanoi. It was the centre of regional political power for almost 13 centuries without interruption.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/hoangthanhthanglong.vn\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2013\/10\/bimat.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1888\" alt=\"bimat\" src=\"https:\/\/hoangthanhthanglong.vn\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2013\/10\/bimat.jpg\" width=\"500\" height=\"362\" srcset=\"https:\/\/hoangthanhthanglong.vn\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2013\/10\/bimat.jpg 500w, https:\/\/hoangthanhthanglong.vn\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2013\/10\/bimat-300x217.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Imperial Citadel buildings and the remains in the 18 Hoang Dieu Archaeological Site reflect a unique South-East Asian culture specific to the lower Red River Valley, at the crossroads between influences coming from China in the north and the ancient Kingdom of Champa in the south.<\/p>\n<table style=\"width: 470px;height: 78px;background-color: #eeeeee\" border=\"0\" align=\"center\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td>The 34th session of the World Heritage Committee is being held under the chairmanship of the Minister of Culture from Brazil, Jo\u00e3o Luiz da Silva Ferreira. The meeting opened on 25 July and will continue through to 3 August.
