To celebrate the Lunar New Year (T\u1ebft) of 2017 and the 87th anniversary of the foundation of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the Th\u0103ng Long – H\u00e0 N\u1ed9i Heritage Conservation Centre works with different organizations and craft villages to host a wide variety of exhibitions and traditional cultural activities to serve the general public during the biggest holiday of the year.<\/p>\n

Traditional folk paintings on display <\/em><\/p>\n

In order to uphold national cultural values, this year the Th\u0103ng Long – H\u00e0 N\u1ed9i Heritage Conservation Centre continues to cooperate with collectors and artisans of craft villages to introduce to the public unique exhibits at the world heritage site. For example the Folk Paintings T\u1ebft exhibition introduces three types of typical traditional paintings of Vietnam, namely the H\u00e0ng Tr\u1ed1ng, Kim Ho\u00e0ng and \u0110\u00f4ng H\u1ed3 through a collection of the Hanoi Ceramic Museum, the Royal Court Costumes of Vietnam exhibition unveils a collection of Researcher Tr\u1ecbnh B\u00e1ch and Trinh Family Foudation with 15 sets of royal court costumes of different Tr\u1ecbnh Lords and Nguy\u1ec5n Kings like Emperor \u0110\u1ed3ng Kh\u00e1nh\u2026 The collections are expected to help the audience better understand the traditional art of embroidery of Vietnam and enjoy the dexterity and talent of the artisans as well as the meticulousness and subtlety of the royal court costumes in the past.<\/p>\n

The Vietnamese Heritage Photos gallery introduces 100 outstanding works selected out of the Vietnam Heritage Photo Awards 2016, giving the visitors a real feel of the diverse cultural identities of Vietnam as a country and a people.<\/p>\n

The \u0110oan M\u00f4n Yard will be decorated with landscaped bonsai and images of crouching dragons, flower baskets and new year symbols. The bonsai artworks will feature many original styles like \u201cFive Blessings\u201d,\u00a0 \u201cFlying Phoenix\u201d, \u201cBrothers\u201d, \u201cLanding Dragon\u201d, \u201cTandem\u201d, \u201cDragon Festival\u201d, \u201cPhoenix Dance\u201d, creating altogether an animated picture of the new year and giving visitors ample opportunities to take memorable photos.<\/p>\n

On this occasion, the Th\u0103ng Long – H\u00e0 N\u1ed9i Heritage Conservation Centre also organizes onsite exhibitions of artifacts and opens to the public newly discovered archaeological areas which reveals different layers of traditional culture and history, such as typical vestiges of the Restored L\u00ea period and the L\u00fd Dynasty, vestiges of the brickyard, and tiled paths, of the L\u00fd Dynasty, the square-sectioned brick yard, remnants of the Early L\u00ea Dynasty and water channels of the L\u00fd Dynasty among others. At the same time, the incense offering ceremony at K\u00ednh Thi\u00ean Palace Foundation will also be restored, giving visitors some initial understanding about the findings of the most recent research. This will provide basis for the total restoration and restitution of the space of K\u00ednh Thi\u00ean Palace in the future.<\/p>\n

On the first days of the new year, visitors to the Th\u0103ng Long Imperial Citadel will also have a chance to indulge themselves in many traditional cultural activities like the incense offering ceremony in memory of the ancestral kings, water puppet shows that create a cozy ambience imbued with cultural identities to usher in the new spring.<\/p>\n

Dragon dance in the Spring Festival<\/em><\/p>\n

The whole heritage site will be adorned with colorful and splendid banners, flowers and lanterns to welcome the New Year 2017 \u2013 the Year of the Rooster.<\/p>\n
