As part of the series of events to promote the value of the World Heritage Site of Th\u0103ng Long, especially its intangible value, a programme titled Celebrating Mid-Autumn Festival<\/em> with many useful and exciting activities will be held by the Th\u0103ng Long – H\u00e0 N\u1ed9i Heritage Conservation Centre. The programme is expected to bring a meaningful mid-autumn festival not only to children but also anyone who still has fresh memories of their own mid-autumn festival in their childhood.<\/p>\n

Coming to mid-autumn festival <\/em>at Th\u0103ng Long Imperial Citadel, children and adults alike will have a chance to take part in meaningful and fascinating activities such as visiting the exhibitions of valuable images and documents related to mid-autumn festival; visiting stalls of traditional mid-autumn products; watching artisans making traditional toys; and even making some types of toys themselves, such as masks, kites, pinwheels, Japanese origami, rice figurines and ceramicware. They will also be able to join many folk games such as see-saw, swinging, slides, triangular hills climbing, enjoy exciting lion dances, water puppet shows based on traditional stories, performances of kite decoration and flying, and meet with scientists and artisans.<\/p>\n

The programme takes place for five days (from 19 September 2018 to 23 September 2018).<\/p>\n

From 8:00 to 17:00 of 19 and 20 September 2018<\/p>\n

From 8:00 to 21:00 of 21 to 23 September 2018<\/p>\n

(Commencement ceremony is at 9:00, Wednesday, 19 September 2018)<\/p>\n

Venue<\/strong>: World Heritage Site of Th\u0103ng Long Imperial Citael (19 Ho\u00e0ng Di\u1ec7u Street, Ba \u0110\u00ecnh, H\u00e0 N\u1ed9i).<\/p>\n

Programme Details<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

* Exhibitions: <\/em><\/strong>Exhibition of traditional mid-autumn toys titled \u201cPainting your mid-autumn pink\u201d whose purpose is to encourage children to \u201cchoose environmentally friendly and safe toys\u201d.<\/p>\n

* Art performance<\/em><\/strong>: Lion dance (by troupe from Tri\u1ec1u Kh\u00fac village of H\u00e0 N\u1ed9i); water puppet shows (by troupe from Thanh H\u1ea3i, Thanh H\u00e0, H\u1ea3i D\u01b0\u01a1ng), Decorating and flying kites (by the Conservation Centre for the Kite Culture of Vietnam) among others.<\/p>\n

* Performance and interactions:<\/em><\/strong> Painting paper masks, making and decorating kites, pinwheels, experiencing paper-folding art\/Origami (a unique feature in Japanese culture), making rice figurines and ceramicware, etc.<\/p>\n

Participating artisans include the family of Mr. Nguy\u1ec5n H\u00f9ng C\u01b0\u1eddng \u2013 Runner-up of World Origami Contest in 2009 (The paper-folding art of Origami of Japan), Mr. Ho\u00e0ng \u0110i\u1ec7p (Director of the Conservation \u00a0Centre for the Kite Culture of Vietnam), Nguy\u1ec5n \u0110\u0103ng Ho\u00e0ng (Deputy Director of the Hu\u1ebf Kites Club), the family of Mr. Ho\u00e0ng B\u00e1 Nh\u1ea5t \u2013 an artisan specialized in mask making (in Thu\u1eadn Th\u00e0nh – B\u1eafc Ninh province); the family of Mrs. Nguy\u1ec5n Th\u1ecb Tuy\u1ebfn \u2013 an artisan specialized in making paper doctors (in V\u00e2n Canh – H\u00e0 N\u1ed9i); the family of Mr. Nguy\u1ec5n Tr\u1ecdng T\u1edbi – an artisan specialized in ceramic production (in B\u00e1t Tr\u00e0ng – H\u00e0 N\u1ed9i); Mr. \u0110\u1eb7ng V\u0103n Khang – an artisan specialized in making rice figurines (in Ph\u00fa Xuy\u00ean – H\u00e0 N\u1ed9i), \u2026<\/p>\n

* Games:<\/em><\/strong> See-saw, swinging, slides, triangular hill climbing, etc.<\/p>\n
