Under Nguyen Dynasty, Hau Lau was used as the residence of imperial concubines and followers who accompanied the King to Bac Ha.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/hoangthanhthanglong.vn\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2013\/08\/haulau2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-449\" src=\"https:\/\/hoangthanhthanglong.vn\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2013\/08\/haulau2.jpg\" alt=\"haulau2\" width=\"501\" height=\"376\" srcset=\"https:\/\/hoangthanhthanglong.vn\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2013\/08\/haulau2.jpg 501w, https:\/\/hoangthanhthanglong.vn\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2013\/08\/haulau2-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 501px) 100vw, 501px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The palace was built of bricks; the lower part has rectangular parallelepiped shape. The lower floor had three levels of roof; the upper floor had two levels of roofs. L\u1ea7u d\u01b0\u1edbi c\u00f3 ba t\u1ea7ng m\u00e1i, l\u1ea7u tr\u00ean l\u00e0 hai t\u1ea7ng m\u00e1i.The roof modeled after Vietnamese traditional architecture of multi-level roof with crescent blades; the entire roof was built with brick and concrete structure but the outer surface was built like tiles.<\/p>\n<p>The French called Hau Lau as PrincessPalace or Pagoda des Dames (Pagoda of women). At the end of the 19th century, Hau Lau was severely damaged. Later, it was renovated and rebuilt by the French as it is at the present.<\/p>\n<p>In 1998, with the consent of the Ministry of Culture and Information, the Institute of Archaeology in collaboration with the Management Board of Hanoi scenery held 2 stages of archaeological excavation into two holes at the ruins of Hau Lau.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/hoangthanhthanglong.vn\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2013\/08\/haulau1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/hoangthanhthanglong.vn\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2013\/08\/haulau1.jpg\" alt=\"haulau1\" width=\"500\" height=\"383\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>With such architectural vestiges unearthed, we can say that for the first time in the history of the study of Thang Long &#8211; Hanoi, along with the archaeological exploration digging in Doan Mon, researchers have found traces of the foundations of many architectural styles and historical periods with different characteristics.Khu v\u1ef1c n\u00e0y c\u00e1ch \u0111i\u1ec7n K\u00ednh Thi\u00ean kh\u00f4ng xa v\u00e0 theo s\u1eed c\u0169, l\u00e0 n\u01a1i c\u00f3 nhi\u1ec1u cung \u0111i\u1ec7n, l\u1ea7u g\u00e1c c\u1ee7a tri\u1ec1u \u0111\u00ecnh.
