As part of a programme titled “Vietnamese youths remembering the testament and following the footsteps of Uncle Ho”, the youth league cluster of the Red River Delta has organized a number of activities to commemorate the 50th year of implementing President Ho Chi Minh’s will (1969 – 2019), and the 20th anniversary of the “Youth Volunteer” movement and Typical Secretaries of Youth Union Branch taking Uncle Ho at his words of 2019 which last from 20 to 21 of August 2019 in Hanoi.
Within the framework of the programme, the youth league cluster of the Red River Delta and their brotherly military units have paid a visit to the World Heritage Site of Thăng Long Imperial Citadel.

The youth league cluster of the Red River Delta includes eight units from Hà Nội, Nam Định, Hà Nam, Thái Bình, Hưng Yên, Hải Dương, Ninh Bình and Hải Phòng with a total of more than 1,214,000 union members. The brotherly military units include the Navy, the Air Defence – Air Force, the Border Guard Command, Military Zone 3, and the Capital Command. In the past years, the youth league cluster of the Red River Delta and the military units have played important roles in the youth activities and the adolescent movement nationwide and have always contributed to the process of socio-economic development, national defence and the construction of the political system of their respective province and the whole country at large. 129 secretaries have been commended as typical examples of the provincial and municipal youth unions and military units that register remarkable achievements in the local youth union and adolescent movements. These ‘red and expert’ young leaders have always overcome difficulties and themselves to fulfill their tasks, and become typical bright examples of the youth league cluster of the Red River Delta and military units in the pursuit of Ho Chi Minh’s thought, ethics, and style.

At the Imperial Citadel of Thăng Long, the delegates took part in the solemn incense offering ceremony to pay tribute to the ancestral kings, visited different places inside the Citadel such as the Main Gate of Đoan Môn, the Palace foundation of Kính Thiên and the Revolutionary Relic House of D67. They also had a chance to understand more about the history of Thăng Long – Hà Nội and the history of revolutionary wars of resistance through typical objects that bear testimony to the glorious periods of the national history.
