Famtrip delegation of the Hà Nội – Hạ Long route survey experiencing the night tour “Deciphering Thăng Long Imperial Citadel”
On the evening of 16/10/2020, Thăng Long- Hà Nội Heritage Conservation Centre cooperated with Hanoitourist Travel Company to organize a program to introduce products to the Famtrip Hà Nội – Hạ Long route survey delegation which includes more than 40 tourism businesses from Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Nha Trang, Tuy Hoa, Da Lat. In the program, the delegation experienced the night tour Deciphering Thăng Long Imperial Citadel and attended Hà Nội tourism investment promotion roundtable.
Thăng Long Imperial Citadel is a World Heritage Site in the heart of Hà Nội – a capital city with a history of more than 1300 years which is home to unique relics and artefacts testifying to its heroic history in particular and that of the Vietnamese nation in general.
To meet the goal of boosting Vietnam’s tourism demand, Thăng Long – Hà Nội Heritage Conservation Centre cooperates with Hanoitourist Travel Company to develop a night tour whose highlight is a deciphering game for tourists when they visit Vietnam, so they can come here and discover the Imperial Citadel of Thăng Long with keen interest.
According to Mr. Phùng Quang Thắng – Director of Hà Nộitourist Travel Company, as the Imperial Citadel of Thăng Long is the convergence of the spirit of heaven and earth, visitors coming here will be able to learn about the history of Thăng Long – Hà Nội and learn to distinguish the differences between different dynasties and periods by taking part in a deciphering game. This is a fun, highly educational and challenging experience that requires participants to briefly memorize information about dynasties across 1300 years.
The tour gives visitors an overall and in-depth view of the relics and monuments through activities such as visiting Đoan Môn (South Gate), Kính Thiên Palace, Archaeological Site 18 Hoàng Diệu. Visitors will also experience spiritual and meaningful activities such as offering incense in memory of 52 kings of different dynasties.
Trần Trung Hiếu – Deputy Director in charge of Hà Nội Department of Tourism said that in addition to requesting units to abide by the prevention and control measures of the Covid-19 epidemic, the Hà Nội Department also initiated a demand-stimulating program by combining with Hanoitourist Travel Company and Thăng Long- Hà Nội Heritage Conservation Centre to develop the Night Tour program “Deciphering Thăng Long Imperial Citadel” to give visitors new experiences and information about cultural history at this heritage site.
In the coming time, the Department of Tourism will continue to support businesses to develop new tourism products, especially those that bear typical Hà Nội’s characteristics, and build momentum for night tourism in the future.
After the survey program, the Centre continued to coordinate and connect with travel and tourism agencies to complete and pack those products so that they can be introduced to the visiting public. New products that are well received by domestic and international tourists will help realise the policy of developing the night economy for Hà Nội.
