This is one of the activities in the Grand ceremony of UN Vesak 2014 jointly organized by    State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) and Vietnam Buddhist Sangha. The Drukpa Sangha Teaching Entourage lead by the His Holiness was in charge of international Buddhist ritual (chanting, ritual) in the Grand ceremony. Through this Grand requiem, the Most Venerable is able to help the martyrs’ souls be saved and die in Buddhahood.

The Grand requiem is of great significance aiming to upholding national tradition, realizing moral philosophy of our country as gratitude to ancestors’ contributions, repayment as well as enhancing the awareness of original point, more closer attachment with native country by the overseas compatriots and introducing our traditional cultural values to  international friends.
