Relics at the construction site of National Assembly House to be excavated and removed

Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai has just allowed Vietnamese Academy of Social Sciences to approve Project of archaeological excavation and removal of relics at the construction site of tunnel and parking area of National Assembly House with total invested capital of 59.68 billion VN dong.

The Deputy Prime Minister required Vietnamese Academy of Social Sciences to receive ideas from the Ministry of Planning and Investment and related Ministries and sectors to prepare, appraise and approve cost estimate of such Project and carry out the project in accordance with regulations.

The Deputy Prime Minister also assigned the Ministry of Construction to take the lead and cooperate with Vietnamese Academy of Social Sciences to prepare and submit the Prime Minister to approve amended tendering plan of the National Assembly House construction investment project, included amendment of total value of Project of archaeological excavation and removal of relics at the construction site of tunnel and parking area of Vietnam National Assembly House as basis so that Vietnamese Academy of Social Sciences approves and carries out the Project.

The National Assembly House was commenced on 12/10/2009 at former Ba Dinh Conference Hall with total investment of 4,797 billion VN dong.

The National Assembly House is designed in the shape of a square with a meeting room in the middle, two basements and five floors; site plan dimension of 102m x 102m, 39m height; total area of five floors of over 36,000 m2, total area of two basements of over 26,000 m2.

The National Assembly House functions as a place to hold the National Assembly sessions, Standing Committee of the National Assembly, anniversaries of the national important events and receipt of senior international guests of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the State.
